DisruptHR Glasgow 2025: Inclusion, Innovation and the Power of Perspective

This year’s DisruptHR in Glasgow hosted by Hunter Adams was a brilliant celebration of fresh thinking around people, culture and the future of work.

Among a line-up of passionate speakers, our Director Ross McQuarrie took to the stage with his talk, “Neurodiversity Works.” Drawing on his experience in recruitment and leadership, Ross explored how the workplace can - and should - be more accessible for neurodivergent talent.

He highlighted the everyday barriers candidates still face, from overly complex recruitment processes to assumptions that can quietly exclude. But more importantly, he shone a light on the opportunities: how embracing neurodiversity can drive creativity, innovation and better problem-solving across teams.

It was an engaging, hopeful and thought-provoking session based on his work with Into Work and a reminder that inclusion isn’t about ticking boxes, but building better organisations for everyone.

Looking Ahead to DisruptHR Edinburgh

We’re also delighted that our consultant Jack Ramage will be speaking at DisruptHR Edinburgh this November.

Jack’s topic? Maternity pay.

A brave choice for a male recruiter - but one that makes perfect sense given the impact of his recent viral LinkedIn post. In it, he reflected on a simple but telling moment: when a candidate asked about maternity pay, and he realised how rarely that information is shared upfront in the recruitment process.

Jack’s reflections struck a chord. His post opened up an honest conversation about how transparency in policies like maternity leave can reshape candidate experience and trust.

At its heart, his message is clear: if we want to build genuinely inclusive workplaces, we need to normalise conversations about family, caregiving and support for everyone - not just those expected to ask.

We can’t wait to see Jack bring that message to the DisruptHR stage next month.
