Job purpose

We are currently looking to hire a recruitment trainee to undertake an Associate position, with the mandate to learn from and complement our existing recruitment expertise, enabling W&A to drive new revenue streams.

As an Associate you will soon be working with W&A’s client portfolio, ranging from global Plc’s to start ups, partnering with them to source the best candidates for a range of permanent and temporary positions.

Being trained and supported by one of our vastly experienced recruiters, you will be sourcing candidates with the aim of becoming a sector specialist and trusted advisor in your field. As your time in recruitment progresses, you will develop your end-to-end recruitment process knowledge and business development expertise, which in time will result in you owning and managing a portfolio of your own client relationships.

Role profile:

  • Developing long term, meaningful and trusted professional business relationships
  • Providing a specialist consultative service by developing a thorough understanding of your specialism
  • Delivering a high level of customer service to all clients, candidates and colleagues.
  • Using business development, marketing techniques and networking to attract new business and candidates
  • Meeting with and on occasion presenting to stakeholders, in person and virtually
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, preparing CV’s managing interviews, creating and delivering shortlists
  • Meeting with and interviewing candidates to understand their skills, experience and career aspirations
  • Offering advice to both clients and candidates on recruitment variables such as pay rates, training, and career progression

About you:

We’d love to hear from candidates that are keen to establish a career in recruitment. Ideally you will be educated to degree level, preferably within a business-based discipline. However, as we promote and encourage social mobility, a degree is desirable but definitely not essential. Candidates who can demonstrate transferrable skills are encouraged to apply.

We’re looking for you to bring first class communication skills, be comfortable in a client / customer-facing role, to bring self-motivation and a desire to build lasting relationships with our customers, providing a customer-focused and tailored approach. High energy levels and excellent organisational skills are of paramount importance while specific knowledge of the Accountancy & Finance sectors would be advantageous.
