This role is based in Reigate, Surrey and offers a hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office)
The Opportunity
This senior finance leadership role sits at the heart of underwriting performance, supporting executive stakeholders with insight, governance and strategic direction across pricing, reserving, reinsurance, investments and capital management. Acting as a key link between finance, underwriting, actuarial and external partners, the role is instrumental in driving sustainable financial outcomes and long-term profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead reinsurance and investment committees, ensuring robust governance, challenge and decision-making
Develop and evolve reinsurance and investment strategies aligned to business objectives
Provide clear analysis and insight on reserving positions and underwriting performance
Optimise capital usage in line with Solvency II requirements and dividend strategy
Deliver competitor and market analysis to identify performance opportunities
Prepare and present high-quality reports to senior leadership on financial performance, risks and opportunities
What You’ll Bring
Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
Deep understanding of insurance underwriting profitability and performance (essential – minimum of 2 years)
Strong knowledge of reinsurance structures, investments and capital management
Experience interpreting actuarial reserving outputs and financial impacts
Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insight
Strong stakeholder management skills across finance, actuarial and underwriting teams
Package & Benefits
Up to £83,000 per annum (depending on experience)
