W&A are delighted to support a global organisation with the recruitment of a Senior Credit Controller. Based in Glasgow, this permanent opportunity offers the chance to step into a senior role with line management responsibility while playing a key part in driving collections performance and strengthening customer relationships.

This role is based in Glasgow with a hybrid working pattern: three days working 11:30am – 8:00pm and two days working 9:00am – 5:30pm.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Global Credit Manager, the Senior Credit Controller will oversee credit control activities across the US ledger while providing leadership to two direct reports. The position offers strong exposure to international operations and the opportunity to influence processes, performance, and customer engagement across a key region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee credit control activities for your owned ledger, ensuring timely collections and strong cash flow performance
  • Lead, mentor and support direct reports within the credit control team
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers to resolve outstanding balances and queries
  • Monitor aged debt, proactively managing risk and escalating issues where required
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including finance, sales and operations to support efficient account resolution
  • Review and improve credit control processes to enhance efficiency and reporting
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to the Global Credit Manager on performance and risk areas

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in a Credit Control role, ideally within a fast-paced or international environment
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build effective customer relationships
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Confident working with financial systems and Excel to manage reporting and collections activity
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements and drive positive outcomes
