W&A is supporting a global organisation in appointing a Payroll Transformation Lead for a two-year fixed-term contract, based just outside Glasgow, with hybrid working.

Sitting at the heart of a major Finance Transformation programme, you’ll lead a high-profile workstream focused on creating a more consistent, scalable and well-controlled global payroll operating model.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role within a wider Finance Transformation programme, with responsibility for helping shape the future of payroll across the organisation.

You’ll lead the payroll workstream, bringing together people, processes and technology to create a more consistent and efficient approach. Working with stakeholders across the business, you’ll turn transformation priorities into practical plans and help ensure change is delivered effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the payroll workstream within a major transformation programme.
  • Help shape and improve end-to-end payroll processes and ways of working.
  • Develop clear plans, priorities and longer-term payroll initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, and improve payroll processes.
  • Support payroll-related systems and technology change.
  • Manage key risks, dependencies and delivery priorities.
  • Develop meaningful payroll KPIs and performance measures.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, HR and the wider business.
  • Champion effective change and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and experience.
  • Experience within payroll transformation, change or process improvement.
  • Exposure to ERP or payroll systems change would be beneficial.
  • An ability to turn complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to challenge and drive change.
  • Experience in a global or complex organisation would be advantageous.
