Payroll Lead : Central Edinburgh : Hybrid Working 

Salary £40,000 - £60,000 - DOE

The European Payroll team is looking for Payroll Lead UK & International Payrolls (Europe) to support the team in day-to-day payroll processes, administration duties and currently run payroll projects.

The successful candidate will be collaborative and reliable with strong experience with UK payroll, knowledge of other European payrolls would be advantageous.

 

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Auditing and approving various payrolls for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assisting in managing multiple Payroll Vendors and local sub-Payroll Providers to ensure the agreed SLA.
  • Being back up for other Supervisors
  • Gaining knowledge / expertise in monitoring ESIP contribution, acquisition, dividends, RS Vesting and MFU Vesting.
  • Auditing and approving payroll data received from Subject Matter Experts vs. the output package provided by various payroll suppliers ensuring the accuracy and that payments to Employees to
  • Statutory entities/Third Parties are processed on a timely manner
  • Sign off banking files (net salaries, third party payments) and sign off manual payments to the banking system.
  • Reviewing and updating the Payroll procedures
  • Giving recommendations to the Payroll management during different projects.
  • Taking part in the recruitment process including job interviews
  • Assisting in managing vendor relationships and escalations, addressing issues and monitoring until resolution.
  • Working proactively with internal stakeholders (as mentioned above), addressing issues or concerns proactively by setting up calls with limited guidance from Supervisor / Manager.
  • Overseeing WD Time Tracking process.
  • Providing improvement recommendations to the Payroll Management about projects.
  • Training the staff members on operational activities.
  • Taking the initiative on communication matters in relation to EE / HR needs with limited guidance from Supervisor / Manager.
  • Being the contact for any kind of project, upgrades.
  • Assisting in coordinating the allocation during staff absence and planning backups.
  • Identifying and resolving payroll inquiries from internal and external customers – escalating to Manager where necessary.
  • Assisting in various ad-hoc projects as directed by the Payroll Supervisor / Manager (e.g. setting up a new location / business unit, procedural changes and documentation.)
  • Ensuring year end processing / reporting requirements.

 

Experience Sought :

  • 9+ years payroll experience required
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (preferable in Finance, Administration)
  • Expert and up to date knowledge of statutory legislation (around payroll, working time, holidays, sickness) in the given country
  • Excellent knowledge and broad experience and exposure to various payroll software packages (ADP systems or Workday would be advantageous)  
  • Experience in a broad range of payroll matters with several years’ experience of controlling or assisting to control payrolls
  • Broad experience in more complex organisations especially with International or multi-site ones; working with external payroll providers
  • Good customer service and use of own initiative
  • Strong knowledge of business desktop applications (specifically Microsoft Word and Outlook) required
