W&A is supporting a rapidly expanding organisation operating at the forefront of the technology sector. As the business continues its impressive growth journey, they are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Part-Time Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.

This position is based in Edinburgh with hybrid working available, offering flexibility across 21 hours per week, spread over 3, 4 or 5 days.

 

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, high-growth business where you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations and month-end activities. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll gain broad exposure across transactional finance while contributing to the smooth running of a fast-paced and collaborative finance function.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the purchase ledger and accurately process supplier invoices.
  • Support month-end accounting activities, including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Reconcile customer payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Create and manage customer invoices through billing systems.
  • Conduct proactive credit control and cash collection activities.
  • Assist with revenue calculations and reporting processes.
  • Support the wider finance function with ad hoc tasks as required.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Well-organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines, particularly around month-end periods.
  • Experience using Xero and/or Stripe would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within a small, agile finance team would be beneficial.
