W&A is supporting a global organisation in the appointment of a Head of Finance Operations Projects & MI, a pivotal leadership role based in Glasgow with hybrid working.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced finance transformation professional to shape the strategic direction, process design, and reporting capability of a large-scale, forward-thinking finance function.

The Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of all Finance Operations projects, from initial process design through to implementation and benefit realisation. Leading with a continuous improvement mindset, you’ll define the target operating model, build robust process frameworks, and oversee the delivery of meaningful MI and reporting across the business. This is a high-impact role with direct visibility among senior stakeholders, offering a platform to influence both strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Finance Operations transformation projects from design through delivery, ensuring measurable performance improvement.
  • Define standard operating procedures, business requirements, and target operating models for the function.
  • Oversee the creation and deployment of management reporting and MI that drives data-informed decision-making.
  • Partner with global finance leaders to align processes, systems, and policies with strategic business priorities.
  • Manage system configuration, testing, and service updates across Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations.
  • Identify process gaps, benchmark best practice, and lead change management to embed new ways of working.
  • Build strong relationships across Finance, Technology, and Operations to ensure consistent adoption and delivery.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven leadership experience in finance transformation, systems implementation, and process optimisation.
  • Deep understanding of accounting and reporting processes, including FP&A, statutory, and management reporting.
  • Expertise in Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations and Power BI.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multinational projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Professional accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic approach, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and hands-on delivery.
