Group Financial Controller - Central Scotland

Wilkinson and Associates are delighted to be working again with one of their premier clients in Stirling as they look to recruit a Group Financial Controller.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for reviewing all consolidated management reporting and ensuring that all internal reporting deadlines are adhered to.

You will be expected to work closely with key members of the team to ensure that all processes and controls are being applied consistently. The role will also look at identifying process and control improvements within the wider Finance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line management responsibility for Finance Manager and Assistant Accountant, providing direction and support in their day to day role.
  • Preparation of weekly consolidated cashflow forecast
  • Review of monthly construction group management accounts and forecast
  • Management of annual external audit process
  • Construction Head Office accounting and reporting
  • Assist Finance Director in preparation of monthly finance report
  • Assist Finance Director in consolidation of annual budget and prepare ad hoc reports
  • Review and submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Review of monthly CIS returns
  • Review on a monthly basis of payables KPIs and liaising with the Finance Manager to resolve any issues identified
  • Assist in improvements / development of Construction Finance systems / processes
  • Oversee divisional balance sheet review process and ensure Financial Controllers / Assistant Accountants take appropriate actions to resolve any issues identified.
  • Review and approve weekly supply chain payments
  • Assisting the Senior Financial Controller in the preparation of statutory accounts, and the Construction Group annual consolidation
  • Ad hoc support to Financial Controllers
  • Managing two direct reports

Background and Experience:

  • Must have experience of working at a similar level
  • Must be a fully qualified Accountant
  • Experience of continuous improvement is essential

This is a hybrid role with 3 days onsite and 2 from home.
