Play a key role in overseeing outsourced fund reporting within a highly regarded investment management firm. You’ll help ensure reporting is accurate, controls are robust, and governance is met across a mix of UK and Luxembourg funds (open and closed-ended). 

Edinburgh-based (hybrid), you’ll work closely with senior internal stakeholders, third-party administrators and auditors - with scope to get involved in projects, change activity and continuous improvement as the operating model evolves.

The Opportunity 

This role sits in Operations and focuses on oversight of outsourced providers and the controls that sit around fund reporting. You’ll support delivery of fund reports and accounts, audit coordination, board and committee reporting, and fund tax oversight. There’s also exposure to change initiatives (fund transitions, operating model enhancements, process improvement). 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Review fund reports and accounts prepared by outsourced providers (open and closed-ended funds) 

  • Support audit delivery, liaising with auditors and coordinating queries and timelines 

  • Review and oversee fund tax documentation, including withholding tax matters 

  • Support board and committee reporting (including closed-end governance packs) 

  • Complete oversight checks to ensure service delivery meets agreed standards (quality and timeliness) 

  • Track and monitor third-party deliverables and help resolve queries and issues 

  • Investigate incidents and operational issues, including root cause analysis 

  • Produce monthly MI and reporting for internal stakeholders and governance forums 

  • Maintain and improve procedures, controls and documentation 

  • Contribute to projects such as fund changes, onboarding and transitions 

  • Provide cross-team support across Operations and Performance/Data as required 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • CA/ACA qualified (IOC desirable) - newly qualified auditors with a funds background are encouraged to apply 

  • Strong fund accounting / fund reporting exposure across OEICs, Unit Trusts and Investment Trusts 

  • Technical understanding of relevant reporting standards (including IA SORP) 

  • Understanding of the regulatory environment for UK and Luxembourg funds 

  • Experience reviewing fund reports & accounts and working with auditors 

  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines 

  • Detail-oriented, quality-driven, and comfortable working in a control-led environment 

  • Clear communicator who can build relationships internally and with third parties 

  • Experience producing MI / governance reporting is beneficial
