Financial Reporting Senior Manager - 9 month FTC - Edinburgh

W&A is working with a large asset management organisation to help source an Financial Reporting Senior Manager for an initial 9 month fixed term contract. Our client has an inclusive culture supporting home and flexible working.

This role will work closely with the Global Head of Financial Control and Head of EMEA Financial Reporting, responsible for providing support to both EMEA Reporting and the UK Reporting teams ensuring key financial and regulatory reporting deliverables are produced to a high standard and on a timely basis.

This extends to ensuring that a robust control environment and clear process documentation exists to validate financial data, support key financial outcomes and finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective leadership, motivation and training to the team to ensure continuous improve and delivery of the highest level of service to the business
  • Provide oversight across EMEA for the month end process, including preparation and presentation of regional/country MI. This includes managing expectations of senior stakeholders regarding the delivery of key reporting outputs
  • Support timely delivery of inputs to the group reporting process, as well as support the UK Financial reporting team with planning and execution of the UK statutory reporting process. This includes oversight and coordination of the delivery of information to the external auditors
  • Support the coordination and delivery of inputs to the annual planning process across UK and EMEA, according to the group timetable. Ensure quality and robust outputs to support country and subsidiary stakeholders.
  • Oversight and support for the coordination of the delivery of information to the external auditors, as well as relevant tax and regulatory compliance
  • Interpret key accounting and regulatory technical matters for presentation and agreement with the Technical Review Committee and other stakeholders
  • Support and lead, where required, team and group wide projects and work collaboratively across the team, wider finance function and external business units to deliver insight and support business decision making

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Significant leadership and delivery experience, across a variety of business and usual and project initiatives
  • Asset management experience preferable but not essential
  • Technical and regulatory knowledge
  • Takes personal accountability for high quality outputs and timely delivery
  • Self-starter who is willing to learn and take on new challenges
  • Commercial acumen and ability to challenge trends and form expectations
