W&A are currently supporting a growing financial services organisation to appoint a Financial Reporting Manager to oversee divisional entity reporting within the wider group. The business has been enjoying significant success and has undergone some exciting pieces of corporate development in recent years.  

This exciting role, based in Edinburgh with hybrid flexibility, offers the chance to drive improvements, lead a high-performing team, and shape financial reporting strategy. 

The Opportunity 

You will oversee financial and regulatory reporting across a group of entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submissions. The role will see you drive process improvements, maintain robust controls, and collaborate closely with regulatory reporting and capital teams. You’ll also play a key role in developing a skilled reporting function, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of excellence. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop a high-performing reporting team, ensuring continuous professional growth. 

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial statements in line with IFRS. 

  • Produce management accounting information for commercial finance stakeholders. 

  • Ensure accurate and timely regulatory submissions to the FCA and other authorities. 

  • Maintain consistent accounting policies, procedures, and controls across entities. 

  • Support statutory, fiscal, and regulatory filings. 

  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements. 

  • Contribute to internal and external audit standards and remediation. 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) with proven financial accounting expertise. 

  • Track record of leadership, with the ability to motivate and inspire specialist teams. 

  • Previous experience in regulatory reporting advantageous 

  • Clear communicator, able to explain complex issues to diverse stakeholders. 

  • Strong knowledge of finance systems, general ledger structures, and reporting tools. 

  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining technical expertise.
