W&A is working with a global financial services business to support their search for a Financial Reporting Accountant.
The role will have responsibility for preparation of IFRS reporting for Group and local statutory accounts, monthly financial and regulatory reporting, ledger maintenance, external statistical reporting, dealing with external audit and internal oversight functions (in particular SOX).

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the quarterly preparation of the consolidated IFRS reporting
Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts
Assist in the preparation of other group, regulatory and external returns e.g. FCA, ONS
Ensure all reporting preparation is completed in a timely and accurate manner
Review and analyse business unit results and third-party supplier’s information, understanding the data and where necessary challenging, to help mitigate financial risks
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to meet defined timescales
Complete workload to an auditable standard and follow Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) processes
Follow principles of continuous improvement, and assist in ad hoc projects and reporting developments as necessary
Required Skills & Abilities:
Qualified accountant such as CA, ACCA or CIMA
An understanding of IFRS accounting, working for a professional firm or a financial services company
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with senior members of staff
Curiosity and willingness to learn
Be a team player who is able to work to tight deadlines without compromising accuracy
Excellent IT skills
Working knowledge of accounts ledger packages and financial consolidation software
