Financial Reporting Accountant - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a leading investment management firm based in Edinburgh as they have an exciting opportunity to join their high-calibre and dynamic finance team.

This role is well suited to those that have an interest in asset management, financial reporting and control.  

This is the ideal role for candidates seeking to take on a broad-ranging and integral role that helps to ensure the employer meets its reporting and regulatory responsibilities.

Summary of role profile:

  • Monthly, quarterly and annual accounts and estimates packages, regulatory and tax returns and filings of applicable entities
  • Financial, capital and liquidity management, administration and dealing with ad hoc developments of applicable entities
  • Year-end and other audits of applicable entities
  • Involvement in the ICAAP, MI packs and any associated deliverables
  • Maintenance of Accounting policies, including researching and documenting the impact of new accounting pronouncements
  • Set up and rationalisation of legal entities
  • Statistical reporting
  • Support implementation of projects and ad-hoc reporting
  • Represent the team as appropriate in department and firm wide meetings

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Fully qualified accountant with some post-qualified experience
  • The successful candidate will have worked in a financial reporting role within financial services and ideally have experience of a multi-national organisation.
  • Previous roles would expect to have involved the preparation of prudential reporting to the FCA.
  • A demonstrable experience of identifying and initiating process enhancements and continuous improvement with strong systems capability is strongly desired.

  • Strong technical skills in financial and prudential regulatory reporting
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills
  • Strong analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and an ability to combine quantitative and qualitative perspectives
  • Ability to deliver high quality results to strict deadlines

  • Ability to work well in a team, with strong abilities in collaborating and sharing knowledge
