W&A is partnering with an established renewable energy business to recruit a Financial Modeller in Projects. This is a broad commercial role offering exposure across operational assets and new investment opportunities, with the chance to combine financial modelling, valuation and performance analysis to support senior decision-making.

The Opportunity

You will join a commercially focused team supporting investment decisions across a portfolio of renewable energy assets and development projects. The remit spans the asset lifecycle, from analysing the performance of operational projects to appraising new investments, acquisitions and potential divestments.

Working closely with finance, development and asset management colleagues, you will turn detailed modelling and financial analysis into clear commercial insight for senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and review detailed financial models for investment opportunities and operational assets.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts, performance analysis and KPI reporting for operational projects.
• Support the evaluation and valuation of new investments, acquisitions and divestments using DCF analysis, IRR, NPV and sensitivity modelling.
• Develop sensitivities, downside cases and stress tests to assess investment risk and support decision-making.
• Analyse the financial impact of changes to capex, opex, revenue assumptions, financing structures and wider market conditions.
• Translate complex model outputs into clear, decision-useful analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate across finance, development, asset management and leadership teams on both operational assets and the development pipeline.

What You'll Bring

• Around two years or more of relevant experience in investment analysis, financial modelling, portfolio analysis or a closely related discipline.
• Strong financial modelling capability, including experience building, maintaining and interrogating complex models.
• An understanding of project economics and the commercial drivers that influence long-term asset value.
• Clear analytical thinking, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate conclusions to non-technical stakeholders.
• The confidence to work across multiple projects and collaborate with colleagues from different professional backgrounds.
• Experience within energy, infrastructure, project finance, valuations, M&A or investment advisory would be particularly relevant; direct renewables experience is attractive but not essential where there is strong adjacent experience.

• Salary: £60,000-£65,000, dependent on experience.
