Financial Controller – North

W&A are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with Fishers in Cupar. Part of the K Bro Company, Fishers has been operating in Scotland since 1900 and is synonymous with its brand - a market leader in commercial laundry across the Scotland and the North of England.

Following two large, successful acquisitions over the past year, the business has gone from strength to strength, not only expanding its UK footprint but also diversifying its customer base. As the company continues to grow, they are seeking to appoint a Financial Controller – North, to play a key role in driving operational and financial performance across the northern division.

The Opportunity

This is a highly commercial role that will report directly to the Finance Director and support four key sites in the North. As Financial Controller, you will work closely with site General Managers and Operations Directors to optimise operational efficiency across the division. You will also act as a trusted business partner, providing detailed performance insights and identifying areas for cost control and KPI improvement.

You’ll gain a deep understanding of each site’s operational intricacies and become a vital link between the finance function and local leadership.

Location: Edenfields, Cupar | Hybrid Working

Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts for the division in collaboration with GMs and the Divisional Director
• Lead annual budget and forecasting processes
• Support cost control, stock management, payroll accuracy, and KPI improvement initiatives
• Monitor key metrics including productivity (PPOH), utilities, reject rates, and equipment uptime
• Deliver insightful sales analysis (monthly, quarterly, annually) across revenue, pricing, and volume
• Prepare CapEx business cases including ROCE and DCF metrics
• Assist with year-end audit requirements
• Contribute to finance systems development and reporting enhancements

About You

We’re seeking a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience in a commercial role within a manufacturing, engineering or FMCG environment. You’ll bring:

• Sound technical accounting knowledge and a commercially aware mindset
• Experience supporting or leading multi-site financial operations
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
• A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving and process improvement

This role would suit a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is keen to make a meaningful impact across a key regional division.
