Financial Controller - Glasgow / Western central belt

W&A is partnering with a construction business in Glasgow to help source a Financial Controller

Our client offers a hybrid working environment.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for all elements of financial control and support will be provided by the Assistant Management Accountant.

They will be the first point of contact for any queries, or requests from the Finance Director.

Role Profile:

• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and board reports
• Preparation and review of short and long term forecasts
• Preparation and review of weekly cash forecasts
• Cashflow management
• Assisting with the preparation of the business plan
• Management of the annual audit process and preparation of Statutory Accounts
• Financial Analysis and credit checks
• Ensuring compliance within the Management System
• Ensuring compliance with tax legislation e.g. CIS, CT, VAT and IR35
• Oversee management of the Finance Team ensuring all ledgers are maintained and key reporting deadlines are achieved
• Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and working closely with the Finance Team to identify process improvements and operational consistency

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Qualified Accountant, with at least 2 years PQE
• Ability to manage, lead and motivate
• Ability to build effective working relationships / influence others
• Attention to detail
• Experience of working to tight deadlines
• Experience of identifying and delivering business process improvements
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Nav and jet reporting
