Financial Controller - West Lothian

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a multinational Plc based in Livingston. They have an excellent opportunity to join their team as a Financial Reporting Controller.

The role is part of the Group Financial Reporting team responsible for producing the consolidated financial results of the group and for the reporting of financials to the US parent company. The team also advises on financial accounting matters and the control environment underpinning the production of financial results. You will also deal with the group’s external auditors. 

This is an excellent role for an experienced Big 4 Audit Manager seeking to test their skills in industry, 

The role will include exposure to senior finance leaders across multiple business areas and jurisdictions. The role will be an integral part of shaping the future of the group’s Financial Reporting function and offering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, overseeing and reviewing the production of monthly consolidated results
  • Overseeing and reviewing reporting for the US parent company
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues across the Group, to ensure information flow is fluid and clear both ways
  • Oversight of planning and communications with local teams to ensure that instructions are understood and results can be produced accurately and on time
  • Managing the integrity of the consolidation process through close liaison with the wider finance function
  • Managing requests for ad-hoc financial reports from across the group
  • Working closely with the group’s auditors to ensure a smooth audit process
  • Integration of new businesses, including embedding reporting and accounting requirements
  • Oversight and sign off on the accuracy of our Group costs - P&l, balance sheet and working capital
  • Internal governance and controls
  • Identifying opportunities to deliver synergies

Required skills and attributes:

  • You will be a qualified finance professional with proven post-qualified experience
  • You should have experience of financial / technical accounting and reporting from working in a large group and/or from corporate financial statement audit. Working knowledge of IFRS is essential and any US GAAP knowledge would be highly advantageous. 
  • A commitment to building a highly controlled and efficient process-driven environment
  • Acting as a senior member of the financial reporting team, motivating, inspiring and developing a team of like-minded finance professionals. Previous team management experience is essential
  • Working within a fast changing, high demand environment, with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities
  • Efficient and accurate delivery of reporting for a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong track record of building great relationships with colleagues through collaboration across a large, complex organisation
