W&A is delighted to be supporting a well-established, global organisation to recruit a Finance Manager for their Grangemouth site. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role offering broad responsibility.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Senior Accountant will oversee month-end processes, ensure reporting integrity, and support the finance team’s professional development. You’ll also collaborate across business units to meet financial targets and contribute to the organisation’s ongoing systems and process enhancements.

The role will lead and support a transactional finance team as well as two management accountants. It will be ‘hands on’ with the financial & Management reporting for the UK business as well supporting the Head of Finance with wider commercial activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise monthly reporting and prepare management accounts across three entities
  • Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and P&L statements
  • Manage and support finance and accounts payable staff
  • Mentor junior team members undertaking professional qualifications
  • Drive compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
  • Identify and implement opportunities for system/process improvement
  • Present financial insights and reporting to senior stakeholders

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of IFRS 16
  • If coming directly from practice must have exposure to auditing global businesses with multiple entities
  • Experience of managing a finance team, this can also pertain to leading an Audit team at Manager level
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Detail-oriented with analytical strength
  • Knowledge of IFRS/lease accounting standards preferred
  • A proactive, hands-on approach
