Wilkinson & Associates are supporting our client as they seek to hire a Finance Manager into their small team.

 

Our client is looking for a recently qualified accountant with energy and enthusiasm to support the continued growth of the company. You will have a dedication to establishing quality systems and processes to produce relevant and reliable management information across a range of business areas and financial drivers.

 

This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter with strong management accounting experience to contribute to the next chapter of our business growth. Likewise, the successful applicant will be working alongside a highly experienced Finance Director and is therefore an excellent learning opportunity too.

 

Summary of role:

 

  • Establish and implement quality management information and reporting systems across a wide range of business activities
  • Establish and maintain records and source existing company information (accounting and otherwise), to support robust management reporting in key business areas
  • Support the compliance and reporting requirements of the business
  • Support the Finance Director on key commercial activity including:
    • Business plans, cash flow forecasts, scenario planning etc
    • Funding requirements
    • Board and investor reporting
    • Supplier and customer management operations
    • Project costing and budgets
    • Evaluating new business opportunities
    • Risk reporting & analysis

Key criteria:

  • Professionally trained and qualified accountant
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial understanding
  • Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheets, variance analysis and cash flow forecasting
  • Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels and with a range of external professional advisers
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data, explore root cause of issues and identify practical, constructive methods for data extraction and report preparation
  • Strong IT skills – in particular MS Excel
  • Ability to determine priorities in the continually changing environment of a fast-growing business, and remain calm under pressure
  • Organisational skills and good attention to detail, experience of establishing and working to practical & effective procedures
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.  Experience of working in an environment of change would be beneficial.
