Finance Business Partner - West Lothian

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a high-growth engineering business based in Livingston. They have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join their finance department and face-off to a key division. 

The successful candidate will provide long term business planning, annual budgeting, periodical budget updates and rolling forecasting. Additionally, they will have the responsibility of establishing and maintaining an effective performance management system.  

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial finance professional to join and contribute to a growing business – the company has gone from strength to strength in the last few years and they have an excellent platform for further growth. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams 

  • Produce monthly management accounts for budget holders that ensure the organisation has an up-to-date position with the finances to support decision making 

  • Contribute to the overall corporate reporting of the organisation’s financial position and the reasons behind the more substantial variations to plan 

  • Support the Group Head of FP&A in developing policies and procedures for Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting with the aim of enhancing standards and increasing accuracy and efficiency of the Finance planning process 

  • Develop and implement early warning systems that will help the Executive Team in detecting and handling deviations to the planned finance outlook without compromising the reasonable financial balance between outflow and inflow of funds 

  • Provide support during the external audit process and in providing management responses to Internal Audit 

Required Skills & Attributes:  

  • Professional qualification such as CIMA/CA/ACCA preferred 

  • Previous experience in a similar role 

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and knowledge of planning and management reporting systems 

  • Previous exposure of working with a multi-company/Group business preferred 

  • Superior analytical skills 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sensitivity to different cultures 

  • Ability to build trust and effective personal relations  

  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
