Finance Business Analyst - West Lothian

W&A is partnering with a growing manufacturing business in West Lothian to help source a Business Analyst.

The role will support the business during the integration of a newly acquired subsidiary providing support and analysis on key integration topics.

The Business Analyst role is a key position and will develop a strong relationship with the senior leadership team and provide the data required to understand business unit performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and understand what is best practice, with emphasis on applying this across other business regions
  • Support commercial team in reconfiguration of sales strategy quantifying benefits of any proposed changes
  • Support manufacturing site on key cost savings projects and optimisation of resources
  • Support the commercial team in analysing product margin and pricing strategies
  • Provide analysis and decision-making support to business units
  • Prepare for the Commercial Director analysis of:
    • Sales mix and its implications
    • Impacts of additional costs that impact the Cost of Goods
    • Variable, Production and Overhead variances to Budgets, prior months and prior years.
  • Advise the Managing Director and Finance Director on opportunities and risks to profitability and working capital
  • Support the Finance Director in Budget and Forecast preparation

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Qualified accountant with post-qualified experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a multi-site, multi-jurisdictional organisations would be highly advantageous
  • Demonstrable ability to analyse, interpret, explain and guide decision making within an organisation
  • Broad experience of cross functional business processes and the ability to work in and with cross functional teams
  • Track record of identifying opportunities for process improvement and in delivering the improvements identified
  • Experience presenting to a management board
  • High level of competency in MS Office
  • High level of integrity and ability to work flexibly
