Finance Analyst - Edinburgh

W&A is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing financial services organisation in Edinburgh to appoint a Finance Analyst who will play a key role within its FP&A and Business Intelligence function.

Based in Edinburgh, this is a hybrid opportunity offering exposure to senior stakeholders, board-level reporting and commercially focused financial analysis within a dynamic banking environment.

The Opportunity

This role sits within the Finance team, supporting both FP&A and BI. It blends commercial accounting, financial planning and analysis, and data-driven business intelligence, offering broad exposure across performance reporting, modelling and strategic insight.

You will be instrumental in preparing monthly management information, contributing to quarterly board packs, maintaining financial models and delivering scenario analysis to support key commercial decisions. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive finance professional who enjoys working with data, building insight and partnering across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and weekly reporting to support deposit and lending monitoring
• Support the production of monthly FP&A management accounts
• Assist in delivering performance insights, including variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Provide clear narrative and actionable recommendations to support decision-making
• Deliver ad hoc scenario analysis, sensitivities and financial modelling
• Maintain and enhance financial models, ensuring robust controls and documentation
• Support BI-led projects by providing financial insight, modelling and analysis
• Contribute to the development of reporting solutions in Power BI and Oracle Analytics Server
• Build strong working relationships across departments and levels within the organisation

About You

• Studying towards a professional accounting qualification
• Previous experience within financial services preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Advanced Excel skills and strong data manipulation capability
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Self-motivated, proactive and well organised
• Confident communicator, both written and verbal
• Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential data
• Experience with Power BI, Oracle Analytics Server, Power Query, SQL or Python would be advantageous
