The Opportunity
As UK Employment Tax Manager, you will be a key figure in delivering complex employment tax consulting and compliance projects, while acting as a trusted advisor to a diverse client portfolio. You’ll have the opportunity to lead engagements, support business development initiatives, and play a vital role in developing the next generation of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing employment tax advisory and compliance expertise.
Manage the day-to-day delivery of engagements, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
Identify and progress opportunities for additional services, supporting business growth.
Mentor, train, and coach junior colleagues, fostering a supportive and development-focused culture.
Oversee engagement finances and scope management to ensure efficiency and profitability.
Stay ahead of employment tax developments, proactively shaping solutions for clients.
Candidate Profile
Strong technical expertise in UK employment tax compliance and advisory, including PAYE, NIC, benefits in kind, CIS, termination payments, PAYE reviews, and HMRC checks.
Demonstrable experience advising clients on IR35 and managing compliance risk.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple clients.
Proven experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
ATT and/or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with commercial awareness and the ability to identify new opportunities.
