Wilkinson and Associates are delighted to be retained exclusively by Carnoustie Golf Links again as we look to recruit a Management Accountant for their finance team.

The Business

The last 5 years at Carnoustie Golf Links (CGL) have been an incredibly exciting period within its history, with the business growing in size, winning multiple awards for a number of its services including ‘Best Golf Course’ over £150 (3 times), Best Pro Shop (2 times) and a Leisure, Tourism and Hospitality award to name but a few.

CGL’s Finance function is responsible for providing the narrative or telling the story that supports the operational plan, goals and activities and aids the decision making across the organisation.

The Role

The Management Accountant role is a key position within finance and will provide a significant contribution to a number of key outcomes for the organisation.

Working within a growing team this role offers an ambitious individual an opportunity to move into the role of a Management Accountant with training and mentorship from the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review of accruals and pre-payments
  • Preparation of Management Information (MI) for Finance Controller
  • Monthly forecast meetings
  • Month end reporting
  • Group and Departmental Budget Creation 
  • Liaising with other departments regularly on budget/forecast
  • Internal group reporting in accordance with the financial timetable
  • Controls and compliance
  • Support the FC with the timely close out of the annual statutory Audit
  • Supports the Finance Controller and other budget holders to analyse and innovate; increasing efficiencies and reducing time spend against internal processes where appropriate/necessary
  • Adhoc CAPEX Projects

Background and Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant is highly desirable
  • Good business acumen with the ability to work in a complex and multi-disciplined environment 
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Experience of Management Accountant duties and activities
  • Excellent prioritisation and time management skills
  • Proactive, can-do approach to delivering robust information
  • Good written and presentation skills
