Business Performance Analyst - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with an acquisitive asset management organisation based in Edinburgh. They have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Performance Analyst to join their growing team.

This Business Performance role provides support and advice to various financial planning and performance management team members on financial matters relating to the performance of the business. This will be a business facing role, providing necessary support to decision making that drives forward the performance of the business.

Ideally, you will be comfortable making suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations. The successful candidate should have the ability to build and maintain relationships with the business to support commercial decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Accountable for components of a complex process or designing and developing new or improved solutions to meet business objectives 
  • Manipulate and analyse data to provide value add internal business insight and commentary to support in maximising results
  • Utilise financial analysis techniques to provide decision support, advice and insight that support commercial decision making
  • Deliver high quality management information and performance reporting and analysis by preparing, developing, and analysing key financial information through consistency of quality, approach and timelines
  • Remain up to date with key performance and financial matters and develop an understanding of the KPIs and cost drivers that impact business performance

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • A recently qualified accountant (or working toward a professional accountancy or actuarial qualification with previous experience in a similar role).
  • Experience across a range of finance specialisms with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of combining advanced financial analysis with qualitative investigation to generate insights
  • Adept at compiling robust financial projections aligned with other relevant management processes
  • Comfortable in identifying issues and trends when analysing financial statements
  • Previous experience of accurately communicating business issues to appropriate parties and providing support to stakeholders
