Business Advisory Senior Manager - Glasgow / Western central belt

W&A is working with a modern practice in Glasgow (hybrid) to help source a Business Advisory Senior Manager due to continued growth.

This role will lead the business advisory team, with responsibility for a portfolio across a range of services, including statutory accounts, management accounts, and business advisory projects.

You will also actively help new clients join the firm and provide services to existing clients across a diverse range of industries and sectors.

The position is within a high-performing team and the successful candidate also has significant potential for growth within the role, with the opportunity to quickly progress to a leadership position within the group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and support the team in all aspects of a client portfolio, ensuring all client deadlines and demands are met by the wider client engagement team
• Take ownership of the client portfolio, continue to strengthen relationships with clients and their wider professional network to ensure satisfaction with services provided
• Take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of all aspects of client work
• Perform accounting work as may be required, particularly work of an advanced technical nature
• Take responsibility for the delivery of specialist advisory and project work to clients
• Maintain and develop technical knowledge, undertaking research of new legislation
• Coach all members of the team and develop their technical knowledge, ensuring work is delegated to the appropriate level to aid the development of the team
• Be a vital part of the management team, involved with the day-to-day operations of the team, ensuring financial and utilization targets and deadlines are met
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Standards

Experience Required:

• Relevant professional qualification (ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA or equivalent)
• Problem solver, bringing solutions, making recommendations, and driving implementation of agreed approach
• Previous experience of working in a similar role
• Experience of handling a client portfolio with strong client engagement
• Team player with the necessary interpersonal skills to build professional relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
• A growth mindset and continuous desire for lifelong learning
• Candidates will be required to have a good working knowledge of clients' accounting systems such as Xero
• Experience of supervising staff
• Experience of technical compliance and advisory work
• Experience in utilizing technology, cloud accounting software, and implementing client-driven solutions
