We’re looking for someone who is passionate about data

Our client’s Internal Audit team has around 45 people based across the UK.  Their primary role is to help the board and executive management to protect the business’s assets, reputation and sustainability. They do this by assessing whether signification risks have been identified and reported, providing a view on the design and operation of key controls and challenging management to improve effectiveness governance, risk management and internal controls.

Internal Audit plays an important role. They are the third line of defence providing independent assurance over the risks faced by the bank. The Internal Audit team view data analytics as being the key enabler to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the function. Your role will be to help support the delivery of the Internal Audit Data Analytics Roadmap, which would cover audit engagements on any subject matter and helping embed data analytics within all stages of the audit lifecycle, including risk assessment, planning and reporting.

What we need today

Our client would love their Audit Data Analyst to have these skills and experience:

  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment with complex risks and controls, ideally, but not necessarily within banking. An ability to apply your knowledge of data and associated controls to your work.

  • Prior experience within Audit / Risk Oversight functions is preferable but not essential.

What we need tomorrow

Our client knows it takes more than just skills and experience.  So, they want their Audit Data Analyst to:

  • Utilise analytical testing over populations of data to provide assurance over the bank’s control framework. Flexibility and adaptability to assist in the delivery of a portfolio of audits. Support the delivery of the Data Analytics Roadmap across all aspects of the audit lifecycle, including risk assessment, audit planning and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider audit team to support the planning and delivery of risk-based audit engagements within defined resource, cost, time and quality parameters.
  • Be innovative, taking an interest in and supporting our partners in embedding analytics across the audit lifecycle and in audit methodology, helping us deliver against the IIA standards and the Financial Services Code.
  • Build, develop and maintain effective relationships with business managers to understand the data landscape and to influence and drive positive change, educating the business in the control framework, whilst providing guidance and insight.
  • Committed to developing your career and keeping abreast of regulatory and industry changes
  • Display accountable behaviours and values – you’re collaborative and things happen because of you

So, if this sounds right up your street, come and join our client’s team. We make things happen!
