Wilkinson and Associates are working with a high profile consumer finance bank based in Edinburgh.

They have an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to join their finance team and assist the financial reporting function.

This position is a fantastic platform to further develop your accountancy skill set in a varied reporting role. It’s well suited to newly qualified accountants with some financial services experience - gained via an audit capacity and/or an in-house reporting role.

Summary of the role profile:

  • Support the Reporting Manager in the delivery of accurate and timely financial and regulatory information, and the ongoing monitoring of capital adequacy and liquidity for the Bank.
  • Support the Reporting Manager in fulfilling all internal and external reporting obligations related to the Bank’s Treasury funding arrangements, including derivatives and hedge accounting.
  • Actively involved in implementation projects linked to regulatory, treasury or financial reporting developments.
  • Support the wider Financial Control team in the delivery of monthly internal reporting and the preparation of annual Pillar 3 disclosures and statutory accounts.
  • Deliver accurate regulatory and statistical reporting (e.g. COREP, FINREP, Bank of England) for the Bank and its regulated subsidiaries, maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Analyse capital and liquidity reporting metrics, providing accurate and insightful analysis to senior management
  • Maintain robust processes and controls in relation to reporting, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Represent the Reporting team on ad-hoc business and change projects, from initial impact assessment through to testing and implementation of changes to reporting
  • Analyse and interpret the impact of the evolving accounting and regulatory reporting framework on the Bank

To be considered for the role you will be a newly qualified accountant, or at 'finalist' stage or a professional qualification. Applicants that have trained in professional practice and / or industry will be considered.

Given the focus of this role, any previous financial services and regulatory reporting experience will be viewed favourably. You should be a proven team player, have excellent communication skills, have a demonstrable track record of both working and succeeding in a deadline driven role and have an appetite to develop your data & analytics skills.
