W&A is working on an opportunity to join a finance systems team where you will serve as the organisation’s dedicated Anaplan Financial Analyst, shaping how financial planning, modelling and reporting are delivered.

This Edinburgh-based hybrid role sits within a forward-looking Finance Systems function and will see you taking ownership of developing, enhancing and maintaining Anaplan solutions that underpin performance, insight and decision-making.

The Opportunity

As the team’s Anaplan specialist, you will lead the design, build and optimisation of models, dashboards and workflows used across Finance. You’ll translate complex business requirements into scalable structures, uplift existing models, and play a key part in system integrations, particularly with Dynamics 365. Your work will directly influence the financial planning cycle and strengthen the organisation’s analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deploy complex Anaplan models across Finance.
  • Lead user story workshops, translate business requirements and oversee UAT and end-user training.
  • Enhance existing models, streamline planning workflows and improve system performance.
  • Ensure the user experience is intuitive, efficient and aligned with best practice.
  • Support data integrations with systems including Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Build accessible dashboards and reports to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Develop and maintain workflow functionality.
  • Remain up to date with Anaplan developments and incorporate new features where beneficial.

Candidate Profile

  • Hands-on Anaplan model building experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
  • Certified Anaplan Model Builder (Level 1 or above); Solution Architect/Master Anaplanner desirable.
  • Knowledge of the Anaplan Integrated Finance Planning Application.
  • Strong understanding of multidimensional modelling, agile methodologies and Anaplan best practice.
  • Advanced Excel modelling capabilities.
  • Experience with Qlik or Power BI is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder confidence across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
