Tax Manager, Advisory - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is working with a large banking group in Edinburgh to help source a Tax Manager for their Advisory team.  

Our client offers flexible working with the option to work from home for the majority of the time. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax professional to join a tax advisory team that is working on multiple UK and International projects and compliance.

You will benefit from excellent exposure to and day-to-day management of high-profile advisory tax work.

The remit for this position is expected to grow as the successful applicant grows within the role so there is a definite learning platform and opportunity to progress.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide tax advice on a range of transactions including: M&A, restructuring, Treasury and Front Office 
• Provide transfer pricing advice to colleagues across the Group 
• Participate in control and governance forums including Arm’s Length (Rule 12) Management Forums 
• Collect and manage the information required to support the new UK local file transfer pricing documentation requirements 
• Work with overseas advisors and tax teams supporting local corporate tax compliance and projects 
• Facilitate the efficient interaction with key external parties including audit teams, HMRC and external advisers 
• Support Group Tax risk reporting and control activities 
• Manage day-to-day activities within risk appetite 

Required Skills & Attributes: 

• A qualification in tax or accounting 
• An experienced tax professional with relevant experience in general corporate tax advisory matters including international tax and/or transfer pricing
• Ability to exercise decisiveness and sound judgement on a consistent basis  
• Sound business, commercial and reputational risk awareness 
• Good problem-solving skills 
• Project management and communication skills
