Tax Compliance Controller - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a leading and growing Asset Management firm in Edinburgh. They have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Tax specialist to join their Finance Department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the organisations global corporate direct tax compliance, following recent global expansion. You will also be ensuring all corporate direct tax returns and payments are made on time. Additionally, you will be working with and responsible for the day to day management of their outsourced global tax compliance partner.

The role is well suited to qualified accountants and/or tax professionals that are looking for a broad remit with the ability to own and shape the content. The growth of the firm allows for ambitious individuals to progress and learn new skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the timely filing of all corporate direct tax returns
• Responsible for the timely payment of all corporate direct taxes
• Prepare corporate direct tax forecasts
• Responsible for the day to day management of the organisations global tax compliance provider
• Ensure an accurate and efficient tax compliance process
• Work with other finance teams to ensure appropriate tax provisioning and accounting notes are included in financial reports
• Contribute to firm wide and finance projects with tax compliance impacts

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Holder of an Accounting or Taxation qualification
• Suited to a qualified professional with UK and International tax compliance experience
• Financial Services experience is desirable but not essential for the role
• A self-starter with an inquisitive mind is a pre-requisite.
• Proven experience of bringing new-ideas and initiative into previous roles
• Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
