Stress Testing Manager - Edinburgh

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a contractor to join their FP&A team on a 12 month basis working as a Stress Testing Manager.

  • Working within the Financial Planning & Analysis team in Finance, this is an opportunity to make an impact by delivering improvements to stress testing reporting capabilities
  • You will build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across finance, risk and other senior stakeholders, supporting a collaborative and efficient operating model
  • Working on one of the most high focus areas for the business, you'll be delivering full and accurate financial information which is both insightful and high profile

What you'll do

You'll lead a team in enhancing modelling outputs and analysis whilst integrating the statistical modelling process with the BAU stress modelling process. In this varied role, you'll be responsible for supporting the delivery of regulatory stress deliverables to the Prudential Regulation Authority and European Banking Authority, and all internal stress reporting deliverables.

This will also involve:

  • Delivering an aligned stress reporting process that integrates the statistical model outputs with the existing day-to-day process
  • Supporting the development of appropriate models to support stress testing and other scenario planning requirements
  • Managing the production of detailed stress reporting analysis packs for submission to senior stakeholders
  • Leading a small team of finance professionals
  • Support the delivery of any changes required to our processes, systems or controls when new stress reporting requirements are implemented

The skills you'll need

We're looking for a qualified accountant with comprehensive banking experience and general banking product knowledge. You'll have a history of producing accurate, high quality work to firm deadlines, and be able to lead others in doing the same. 

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and managing senior stakeholders
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, and an inquisitive mind to investigate issues
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with Oracle PBCS an advantage
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to identify, build and enhance key relationships
  • An appreciation of the approach to model development
