Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a highly successful FinTech to help source a Strategic Finance Analyst. The business has seen consistent year-on-year growth and continues on the upward trajectory as they implement their growth strategy. 

The Strategic Finance team is a relatively newly formed team within the Finance function and the position can be based out of Edinburgh or remotely. 

The successful candidate will be building and maintaining core business models in conjunction with budget forecasting, treasury and reporting teams. Additionally, you will be supporting strategic initiatives in relation to corporate finance transactions or specific organic/inorganic initiatives 

The role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic firm and gain exposure to the Group strategic plans from a finance perspective.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Creating and maintaining group / regional financial forecasts  

  • Helping on historical / projected financial analysis with the identification / tracking of KPIs 

  • Ad hoc preparation and review of financial modelling / funding plans across inorganic projects (M&A) in conjunction with the corporate development / integration teams 

  • Ad hoc preparation of financial modelling across internal projects  

  • Leading and/or supporting the finance workstream of any corporate finance events (e.g., debt/equity processes) 

  • Preparation of materials for Executive/Board presentations as and when required 

  • Supporting the wider team with valuation exercises for year-end accounts 

  • Tracking group investments / capital deployment, including fair value analysis and return on investments, etc 

  • Helping with the implementation of tools / processes to improve decision-making across the business 

Required Skills & Attributes: 

  • Business degree in business, economics or corporate finance  

  • Circa 2 years’ experience in finance / corporate finance; ideally in corporate finance / investment banking roles 

  • Must be self-sufficient in building models, running financial analysis and capable of running day to day project execution 

  • Understanding of financial institutions and regulatory framework 

  • Strong MS Excel skills 

  • Analytical skills with a strong interest in accounting / M&A 

  • Proactive and autonomous 

  • Enthusiasm for taking on new responsibilities 

  • Good communication skills (interpersonal, written and oral) and experience in working with and managing stakeholders and decision makers
