Senior Model Developer - 18 month FTC - Edinburgh

              The Role:

 

The role of Senior Model Developer is to work with Actuaries, other Model Developers, Data Experts, and other Finance professionals to deliver modelling solutions for the Solvency II Reporting Process Transformation project. 

 

Key Tasks:

 

    • Deliver modelling solutions for the Solvency II Reporting Process Transformation project.
    • Change Champion – Proactively champion the transformational change, working collaboratively to ensure that technology is an enabler for organisational development.
    • Risk Management – Promote and embed a risk management culture ensuring that all change activity includes a systematic approach to raising, tracking, and controlling risks and associated mitigants.
    • Use your excellent engagement skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

 

Skills/Experience

 

    • Proven track record of delivering in a similar Financial Modelling role and a good understanding of Solvency II methodologies.
    • Strong track record of developing software solutions that deliver successful results.
    • Well versed at designing and executing test scripts that ensure the completeness and accuracy of solutions.
    • Strong experience of producing technical documentation of a process or solution to an audit standard.
    • Ideally experience with SAS, Visual Basic, C++, or similar.
    • Ideally knowledge of Prophet Professional/ALS and Prophet Enterprise, Unify, or similar.
    • Fantastic engagement skills with a willingness to collaborate, but equally confident working of your own volition.

 

Education/Qualifications:

 

    • Undergraduate degree in computer science, Mathematics, or other numerate subject.
    • Ideally “qualified by experience” or you are a part-qualified actuary
