Senior Management Accountant - Edinburgh

W&A is partnering with a high-growth and multi-faceted company based in Edinburgh to find a Senior Management Accountant.  

This pivotal role is integral to supporting our client's expanding business by ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of company records and producing high-quality consolidated financial statements. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for assigned legal entities 

  • Reporting, partnering, and advising senior stakeholders on results 

  • Monthly reporting and analysis  

  • Posting and reviewing month end journals for accruals, prepayments and payroll 

  • Preparation, review, and resolution of month end balance sheet reconciliations 

  • Timely preparation and reconciliation of central management fees and cost recharges 

  • Liaising with Group FP&A team to review and challenge monthly results and forecasts 

  • Routine uploading of profit and loss, working capital, and aged debtor inputs to group reporting systems and ensuring their reconciliation to the general ledger 

  • Intercompany accounting for assigned group entities 

  • Supporting the annual budget and forecasting processes for central functions 

  • Routine monitoring and reporting of capital expenditure projects 

  • Supporting audit processes and ensuring an effective control environment 

  • Documentation of procedures and contributing towards wider process improvements 

About You: 

  • Qualified ICAS, ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with experience in a finance role 

  • Proven management accounting, reporting, finance systems, and senior stakeholder partnering experience in a complex group organisation 

  • Strong analytical ability to challenge financial results and performance 

  • Demonstrable knowledge of intercompany and internal group recharge processes 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with individuals at all levels in the organisation 

  • Ability to prioritise and work within a fast paced, dynamically changing environment 

  • Well organised, self-starter able to work both autonomously and as part of a team 

  • Display a positive, can-do attitude and foster a culture of continuous improvement 

  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Excel  

  • Effective operation of core ERP and Business Intelligence systems
