Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a global financial services organisation based in Edinburgh to help source a Senior Decision Support Consultant.  

The Senior Decision Support Consultant role within the Commercial Finance team is designed to help support the production and delivery of the Annual Operating Plan. The role holder’s primary responsibility is to support the wider business from a commercial and financial perspective.   

This is an excellent opportunity to drive business performance through interaction and challenge sessions with senior level stakeholders. The role holder will develop an in depth understanding of the business, the opportunities and threats to achieving group strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Delivering targeted and insightful MI to drive business performance 
  • Supporting delivery of performance enhancing projects 
  • Identifying options and recommendations to optimise business performance 
  • Influencing and challenging stakeholders across business without direct control 
  • Build a network of strong working relationships across the business 
  • Support and deliver value generating projects and operational improvements 
  • Support robust, financial assessment of business opportunities and performance 
  • Prepare and review monthly MI 
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis on business performance issues as required, driving operational improvements and business performance. 
  • Apply appropriate benefits tracking and value realisation 

Required Skills & Abilities: 

  • Relevant Accountancy or Actuarial Qualification 
  • Demonstrable experience of adding value in a previous role 
  • Experience of Financial Services is desirable but not essential 
  • Strong analytical skills & attention to detail 
  • Good communicator with the ability to build excellent working relationships 
  • Good Excel and report writing skills 
  • Comfortable in delivering to senior stakeholders in a clear & precise manner 
  • Experience of working in small project teams with non-finance staff desirable
