W&A is working with a retail bank to help source a Senior Audit Manager in Model Risk. This role can be based across the UK with hybrid working.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Audit to deliver the audit plan for the business functions. You will also lead on the delivery of a portfolio of large and complex internal audits, providing subject matter expertise on Model risk, especially related to IRB, to provide reliable and independent assurance on the effectiveness of the control framework.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide independent assurance over one of the bank’s key risk areas.

  • Provide value and insight to your stakeholders and head of audit in the development of the audit plan
  • Develop your career and keep abreast of regulatory and industry changes
  • Lead by example and champion the banks audit methodology

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong planning and organisational skills with a proven track record in leading and delivering multiple high-quality audits
  • A solid quantitative background with expertise in key risks and controls throughout all stages and aspects of the model lifecycle including quality of the underlying data; models methodology, performance and limitations; model automation and model use
  • Experience of leading, motivating and coaching others to attain high standards
  • Excellent communicator who projects confidence and can build influential relationships with stakeholders
  • Strong and effective writing skills with experience of delivering good quality audit papers to audit methodology
  • Sound and practical understanding of regulatory requirements for IRB, IFRS9, forecasting and stress testing models, e.g., Capital Requirement Regulation, relevant Regulatory Technical Standards and PRA supervisory statements, with an ability to apply this to audit work
