W&A is working with an asset management organisation based in Edinburgh to help source a Reporting Accountant.
In this role you will be a pivotal part of our clients IFRS programme for the implementation of their new strategic finance solutions. The role combines financial reporting, project work, systems developments, technical accounting and stakeholder engagement – so lots to get your teeth into!

Key responsibilities:
Supporting team to deliver IFRS programme objectives
Working as part of the Finance function to understand how the changes impact the existing finance landscape and design ways to minimise disruption to the business in implementing the changes
Ensuring effective communications with all stakeholders within the core project team
Supporting the business leads on a day-to-day basis, representing the voice of the business in the project and acting as the interface between the Project Team and Finance teams
Providing accounting insight into development of reporting activities
Providing input into key programme activities including accounting process development, parallel runs, UAT, learning requirements and enabling business readiness
Supporting continuous improvement through routine and bespoke analyses
Supporting the programme with detailed accounting analysis
Required Skills & Abilities:
Accountancy qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CPA)
Ability to translate complex accounting content to a range of stakeholders and understand the impact on their business areas
Experience in the delivering systems implementations desired
Experience in implementing new accounting standards desired
Able to apply logic and problem solving to complex accounting problems
Ability to manage and prioritise conflicting goals
Experience of developing strong working relationships and coordinating activities across distributed business areas
Knowledge of general ledger, consolidation and reporting systems
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
