Newly Qualified Accountant - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is working with a retail bank in Edinburgh to help source a Decision Support Manager. This role is forward-looking so its well suited to soon-to-be or newly qualified accountants with commercial acumen and an ability to spot opportunities and risks.

This role will support the lending products of the bank from a financial perspective covering performance, planning, insight and generation of ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end processes for loans, including production of all reporting and analysis, in addition to presenting and answering questions on performance drivers
• Lead the forecasting processes for loans, including budget, rolling forecast and long-term plan
• Prepare financial analysis to support investment decisions, including pricing and credit risk changes
• Provide financial information, KPIs and analysis to the commercial team, including scenario analysis to help drive commercial tactics and strategy
• Develop insightful MI and propose recommendations where appropriate, leveraging the breadth of knowledge and expertise within decision support
• Driving change and transformation from a financial perspective
• Pro-actively identify and manage the risks within own area

Required Skills & Attributes:

• A professional accountancy qualification, or nearing completion
• Financial services experience preferred but candidates from all sectors will be considered
• Previous planning and forecasting experience would be advantageous but not essential
• Financial reporting and/or management accounting experience
• Proficient user of MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Verbal and visual presentation skills
