Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with an established retail bank headquartered in Edinburgh. They have an excellent opportunity to join their team as a Statutory Reporting Manager in the Financial Control department.

Reporting to the Statutory Reporting Senior Manager, the role will be responsible for delivering accurate statutory accounting and reporting for the bank within an appropriately controlled reporting environment. This position is seen as a logical career path for applicants making their first move out of practice. 

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with technical knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting requirements to join a recognised retail bank.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering compliant statutory reporting on a timely and accurate basis
  • Preparing high quality month end and half year/year end reporting of the entity and consolidated results to support reporting to Group Finance and externally through interim and full year financial statements
  • Ensuring reporting implications of new products or standards are understood and reflected in the results
  • Delivering accurate corporation tax accounting in accordance with HMRC guidance and legislation
  • Preparing corporation tax and operational tax returns to ensure relevant returns are complete and accurate and corporation tax payments to HMRC are made in advance of statutory deadlines
  • Identifying and delivering improvements in processes, systems and controls to enhance the financial control framework 
  • Collaborating with the wider business to support the successful delivery of internal and external reporting commitment

Required skills and attributes:

  • Qualified or final stage accountant
  • Previous experience in a finance environment / similar role / financial statement audit
  • Use of automated financial statement preparation tools
  • Good knowledge of IFRS
  • Excellent MS Word and Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills
