Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a high-profile organisation in Edinburgh to help source a Lead Finance Business Partner.

The role will support the Finance Director in building a focused and proactive Business Partnering Function. Additionally, the successful candidate will gain a thorough understanding of supported business centres and help devise updated planning processes, information and analysis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter with the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help raise the profile of Finance through effective Business Partner support
  • Help devise a Finance Business Partnering programme and calendar
  • Build relationships with various teams and other stakeholders
  • Build insightful reporting packs to business centres including KPIs and focused MI
  • Produce accurate and timely management information packs and manage communication with key stakeholders
  • Explore innovative and improved ways of providing insight in the financial reporting
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly management information and consequent benefits to year end close
  • Support the Financial Controller in the new finance systems programme ensuring Finance Business Partnering requirements are fully supported
  • Help to build project business case processes and tracking reporting
  • Provide detailed analysis where required to stakeholders
  • Develop and support the Finance Business Partner role
  • Deputise for the Finance Director where appropriate
  • Positively influence the wider finance team and provide professional leadership as part of the Finance leadership team

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Qualified accountant with at least 3 years post qualification experience across a range of sectors
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience of developing people
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to support, influence and build effective relationships
  • Strong IT skills, including excellent excel
  • Experience of MI systems would be advantageous
  • Project management capabilities
  • Experience of developing new, focused reporting and analysis output
