Internal Audit Specialist - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is working with a large investment company based in Edinburgh to help source an Internal Audit Specialist.

This role will support the organisation in meeting its regulatory, reputational and commercial requirements, delivering audit work for the portfolio and inputting into audit deliverables.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical individual to develop in a purpose-led organisation.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting Audit Managers to deliver all aspects of the Audit Plan and audit outputs in line with methodology
• Developing an understanding of the organisations Strategy and Business Objectives to focus work on the highest risks
• Audit Specialists may own less complex audit universe entities to research and risk assess

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Educated to degree level with a relevant professional qualification or experience (e.g., accounting, audit, risk)
• Ability to think strategically, linking long-term vision to daily work
• Clearly and effectively communicates information, ideas, plans, requests and opinions to internal and external partners through a range of channels, including written and oral
• The ability to make decisions at pace and in ambiguous or conflicting situations
• Knowledge of specific regulations, legislation, governance and compliance requirements
• Identify, assess, control and monitor risks
• Influencing others to achieve a positive impact
• Interprets and influences both the external and internal environments by creating positive relationships with partners
• Plans, initiates, executes, controls and closes projects/programmes/portfolios of work in a disciplined manner
