Key Responsibilities


The Internal Audit Manager (Insurance Products & Platforms) reports directly to the Head of Audit (“HoA”) for the Platforms business and is responsible for:
 

  • Development of a dynamic audit plan for the Life Company which meets audit needs and uses the departmental risk-based methodology
  • Resource, scope, plan & conduct (concurrent) complex or specialised audits in line with methodology and quality requirements – with minimal guidance required from HoA
  • Ensure issues identified are analysed to determine the root cause and findings reported on with related follow-up undertaken on a timely basis to ensure effective delivery
  • Effectively communicate complex information to a wide group of senior stakeholders against a background of continuous regulatory change
  • Ownership of key stakeholder relationships within the Life company as well as attendance at relevant Life committees and forums
  • Develop and maintain in-depth relevant business knowledge of the Life company and sharing this knowledge both within IA and the wider business
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the IA function and work closely with other audit delivery teams
  • Support the HoA in delivery of the wider Platforms audit plan

Candidate requirements
 

  • Insurance experience essential
  • Qualified Accountant or other relevant professional qualification e.g. CIIA or qualified Actuary, with significant experience in an insurance context
  • Strong understanding of life insurance accounting
  • Specialist knowledge of unit linked insurance products and insured funds
  • Good working knowledge of Solvency II
  • Working knowledge/experience of Part VII transfer process desirable
  • First class stakeholder engagement skills and a genuine ability to communicate effectively at the most senior levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
