IFRS17 Business Analyst

 

INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

 

We are looking for an experienced business analyst to support the implementation of a new financial reporting standard (IFRS17) within our client’s Group. The role is within the Process and Business Readiness workstream which is a small change team responsible for delivering a robust process and control solution within the IFRS 17 implementation programme.

 

This Workstream is responsible for all elements of process design, control, reporting timetables and future operating models. Experience understanding and developing complex cross-functional processes is essential.

 

Our client is also responsible for developing and executing a business readiness solution which allows the Group to be operationally compliant by regulatory effective date (1 Jan 2023). Experience implementing business readiness solutions is desirable.

 

The role will operate across the full Group – including stakeholders in the UK and overseas.  No regular travel anticipated for this role.

 

What will be your key responsibilities?

 

  • Lead and deliver pieces of work within the workstream – with responsibilities for shaping tasks, defining milestones and delivering outputs to required standard.
  • Utilise business expert knowledge to design business processes which meet programme principles and complement other IFRS17 data & system workstreams. This could be through 1:1 discussions or facilitation of business process workshops. This includes gathering process requirements, design work and sign off with business teams. Where options exist, prepare analysis and materials for decision making. Presentation of this to workstream lead and business owners.
  • Work closely with significant internal change programmes to manage design dependencies and issues which may impact this workstream.
  • Maintain process documentation and library for the programme.
  • Support business readiness activities as required.
  • Assist with preparation of governance papers and updates for workstream i.e. proposals for approval.

 

What are the key skills and experience needed?

 

Essential

 

  • Experience with process and control design
  • Experience with business / operational readiness
  • Knowledge of finance transformation and financial reporting
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex topic in simple way
  • Facilitation of business process workshops
  • Ability to work independently as part of a small team – whilst taking strategic direction and input from Workstream lead as required.
  • Flexibility to complete tasks required by the programme or workstream as required
