Simple Online Healthcare is a digital healthcare company, which provides a range of health services to patients across the UK and Australia. Trading since 2015, we have seen rapid and sustained growth achieving 50% CAGR over the last 3 years.

We offer online doctor consultations, fulfil NHS and private prescriptions and operate both online and bricks and mortar pharmacies. Our mission is to provide easily accessible digital health service to patients in the UK, Australia and across other international markets

We now seek a Head of Finance to lead our small team and help to steer the business as we embark on our expansion plans.

We are looking for a high-calibre individual to help us create a financial roadmap focused on scaling globally.

Role:

  • Primarily responsible for creating, implementing and monitoring the financial strategy
  • Guide and facilitate capital fundraising activity
  • Project work such as assisting with M&A activities
  • Create and monitor internal processes and control making suggested improvements where required.
  • Responsible for the day to day financial management of the business and managing the finance team, including but not limited to:
    • Preparing monthly budgets and monitoring budgets against actual performance. Providing commentary on variances.
    • Providing insightful MI and commentary on the performance of each element of the business.
    • Preparing cash flow forecasts and monitoring to actual.
    • Monitor capital expenditure
    • Liaising with external auditors at year end.
  • Oversee the finance team in delivery of:
    • Preparation of monthly management accounts on a timely basis, including calculation and posting of month end prepayments, accruals, depreciation and reconciliations
    • Sales and purchase invoice processing and debtors
    • Authorising and processing payments runs, dealing with supplier queries and ensuring control accounts are maintained.
    • Preparation and submission of Tax and VAT returns.

Candidate background:

  • Qualified accountant with a Corporate Finance background, ideally with some capital fund-raising experience although candidates from a broader Due Diligence / Transactions / Valuations background are invited to apply
  • Ambitious, with CFO potential and the desire / ability to progress
  • Supervisory / team management experience
  • Previous experience of creating and installing finance processes
  • Proven in creating insightful management and board packs
  • Numerate with proven financial analysis experience. A desire to upskill in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics tools, with a view to harnessing the data available and creating financial insight thereon
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Take initiative and ownership of tasks with the ability to work with little supervision
