Our Company

 

Our client, a software solutions company, have a requirement for an experienced systems accountant to join their business and report directly to their CEO.

The successful candidate will play an integral part in the business, developing the accounting function across the Group bringing record keeping and reporting up to the standard expected in a fast-moving tech company AND assist in the specifying and installation of a new Group wide global enterprise solution.

 

This role interacts with our UK finance team together with finance team globally. The essential functions of the role are: system specification drawing on experience within the organisation and bring best practice of Software as a Service (SaaS) business model to the Group; transfer of three disparate systems on to a common enterprise platform; successful transfer of data from the existing three systems into a single common platform; ongoing systems development.

 

The Person

 

The ideal person for this role will have experience of working as a systems analyst / management accountant or reporting accountant in a successful SaaS business preferably with overseas experience or experience of working in an international and group environment. Experience of systems development particularly the successful replacement of core accounting systems in multi-sites with systems such as Netsuite or MS Dynamics is essential.

 

The successful candidate will have an excellent track record in working with multidisciplinary operational teams delivering to stakeholders throughout a business.

 

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential, as you will need to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and with key system suppliers. You will be a self-motivated, proactive problem solver with proven ability to deliver internally and to ensure supporting contractors deliver to budget and time plans.

 

 

Detail

 

The key responsibilities of this role are:

 

* Mapping and understanding of business processes and business information needs.

* Working with internal and external partners to define operational specification of the new system.

* Agreeing timescales and financial budgets for the transition of old to new systems.

* Coaching and training of internal colleagues in the introduction of the new system to agreed timeline.

* Working with external delivery partners to deliver system change to agreed timescale and budget.

* Ongoing monitoring of internal processes and control making suggested improvements where required.

 

The skills and attributes required include:

 

* CA/ACA/ACCA qualified with 4+ years post qualification experience in a similar role

* Knowledge of current systems of Sage50 Professional, Quickbooks, and Xero a benefit

* Experience of operating MS Dynamics or Netsuite and its implementation essential

* Experience of SaaS business model in a high growth environment essential

* Ability to work to tight deadlines

* Knowledge of Office365 essential

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Numerate with strong analytical skills

* Take initiative and ownership of tasks with the ability to work with remote supervision

* Sound knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP)
