Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a leading asset management organisation based in Edinburgh to help source a Group Financial Accountant.

The role will be responsible for explaining the impact of projects and initiatives on the IFRS income statement, balance sheet and adjusted profit. You will also be required to develop strong working relationships across finance as a whole and you will be at the centre of the decision-making process.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are seeking a role that is part projects, part reporting, part technical policy and part advisory. Applicants who have previous experience of a similar role or who are considering their first move out of practice are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • To participate in strategic projects to ensure that all relevant IFRS accounting issues are considered, their impact fully understood and business opportunities are maximised
  • Monitoring, assessing and managing the implementation of the IFRS requirements and providing training
  • To be involved in ad-hoc business projects as required and provide IFRS accounting advice and guidance
  • To act as a point of contact for areas across the Group for IFRS technical accounting queries
  • To participate in the development of the Group’s IFRS external reporting to the market, including the reporting of performance metrics
  • To research into current and emerging IFRS technical accounting issues and assess their impact on the Group’s IFRS results
  • To contribute to the implementation of new standards across the Group
  • To ensure that internal controls operate effectively and adequate evidence is provided

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Strong IFRS accounting knowledge
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, especially the ability to communicate complex issues simply and effectively
