Our client has a high profile role for 12 months, based in Livingston and reporting to the UK&I Head of Finance. The successful candidate will manage a virtual team of subject matter experts brought together from across Finance, IT and the business to successfully deliver the IFRS15 Phase 2 solution.  Work is already under way on this project, so they are looking for someone who can translate this detailed design work into a fully operational reporting solution.


This is a complex project, covering 57 million products, so they are looking for a candidate who brings collaboration & inclusivity with a forward looking and restless mindset, with the drive and energy to engage with stakeholders across the business to deliver success. 


You will:


- Work with the IT Project Manager to lead our virtual IFRS15 project team to deliver an IFRS15 reporting solution including prior year comparisons
- Review, challenge and refine existing assessments of IFRS15 implications of the company’s contractual arrangements with customers
- Engage with Group colleagues and internal and external audit teams to ensure that proposed IFRS15 SOX controls and reporting processes comply with all requirements 
- Alongside Group colleagues, educate the business on the risks arising from IFRS15, including customer contractual changes and considerations when structuring new products
- Collate appropriate data to support calculations of revenue stream fair values (includes supporting the changes needed in underlying customer records and reporting)
- Develop a robust mechanism to calculate transitional adjustments for all contracts
- Update/implement new SOX controls and reporting processes to comply with IFRS15
- Lead and motivate the virtual IFRS15 project team
- Build a strong understanding of the impact of IFRS15 on revenue streams and be subject matter expert to Group, Commercial and Shared Services Finance teams



You'll have:


- Proven technical acumen - being a fully qualified accountant
- A record of providing insight and applying IFRS in a high volume commercial environment to enable the Leadership Team to make informed decisions
- Practical experience of managing revenue recognition arrangements, involving multiple elements.  Relevant retail financial services, telecoms or subscription experience will be valuable.
- Excellent excel skills; awareness of SAP and billing systems an advantage
- A record of delivery both as part of a team and working independently  
- Experience of delivering projects with understanding of what makes good Project Management
- Strong interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate effectively and influence as the role requires working with all levels of Technology, Change, Finance and Executive Management
- Proven design & optimisation of financial processes and controls
- Revenue recognition under US GAAP would be an advantage
