W&A is delighted to partner again with our Edinburgh based infrastructure client as they seek to hire a Financial Control Manager.

Role Profile

Our client’s finance team drives growth through strong processes, controls, and data-driven decision-making.

As the scale and complexity of the business continues to grow, they’re seeking to add technical expertise to support on accounting, tax and compliance. This will cover month-end, year-end and project work, providing a varied and challenging workload for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close and lead on legal entity reporting, providing key accounting adjustments
  • Lead financial statement preparation and liaise with external auditor
  • Monthly balance sheet substantiation and reconciliation of key accounts to verify the completeness and accuracy of financial information
  • Own accounting policies, existing and developing and implementing new policies as required, ensuring compliance whilst supporting business performance
  • Liaise with tax advisors to provide business support and on-time filings for corporation tax, VAT and payroll taxes
  • Stay on top of accounting, tax and regulatory developments that affect the business
  • Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with associated regulations
  • Assist with treasury management and cash flow forecasting

Person Profile

  • Qualified accountant, preferably with strong technical knowledge of FRS102
  • Experience of working in fast-paced environments and with/for SMEs would be beneficial
  • Good attitude, naturally curious and have a relentless drive to make things better
  • An ability to communicate effectively across teams and work levels

The role is based in Edinburgh city centre, easily accessible via public transport. The company operates an office-first working pattern, with some flexibility to work remotely as needed.
